The current version is 1.2, as released on the 24th June 2004.
There have been reports of problems (crashes or failing to run) when using the GL renderer with some NVidia 3D cards. What causes this still unknown, since it works OK here on my NVidia TNT64 machine, and I don't have access to any other machines.
Currently there's no way to change glHack options (like the tileset used) without editing the config file by hand. That's not very user friendly ! A new in-game option menu has been planned for a while now, maybe one day it'll get done...
There's quite a few tiles in the 32x32 tileset that need improving.
